Many vintage car radios in classic cars are small masterpieces of design. Some of them are even small rarities and way too unique to be replaced by a retro version. On the outside true gems, their technical innerts unfortunately no longer meet the requirements of today.
All digital updates happen only on inside your radio. We do not need any additional connections cables and we do not hide any technology in your glove compartment. Only the inside of your car radio will be equipped with new digital components. The housing and all buttons, switches and controls as well as thwe original tuner mechanism are carefully cleaned and retain all their original functions.

Our company name WUNDERBAR is a reference to WONDERBAR, DELCO's legendary station search radio, which are also installed in my two classic: a 1956 Cadillac Sedan de Ville and a 1961 Cadillac Fleetwood Sixty Special. In both cars the DELCO Wonderbar radios were defective and there were many who wanted to help me - and no one who really could. That's why there's WUNDERBAR Custom Radio Shop - a small radio shops that breathes new life into old car radios and makes them do things you've only dreamed of.

Many other suppliers install a 3.5 mm jack connector - and then connect an external Bluetooth or DAB+ receiver to it. At WUNDERBAR, all of these technologies are integrated into the original radio and all can be operated via the original switches and controls, without any exception. Each radio restored and converted by us receives connections for the power supply, a connection for the speaker outputs, in the case of Bluetooth an input for the microphone and, if desired, RCA outputs for an externall amplifier.

WELL THOUGHT-OUT OPERATING CONCEPT WITH VOICE ANNOUNCEMENTS
ALL SWITCHES AND BUTTONS REMAIN ORIGINAL
Without exception, all of the radio's features can be operated using the original switches and controls - with one difference: Many of the switches have an extended range of features after the conversion. This allows you to conveniently control all additional functions. For example, your smartphone can be paired via Bluetooth using the volume control - by briefly twisting it to the right twice and the radio is then "Ready to Pair".

The electromechanical station search in many old BECKER and DELCO car radios is either decommissioned by other suppliers or at most works for FM. At WUNDERBAR, we restore the station search feature and then make it fit for DAB+ - so that you can find all stations in the future as as you did in the past: via the station push buttons or automatically via the search button.
